Unique New Dog Clothes from Junjing Industrial

I’ll be the very first to admit, when I hear the name Junjing Industrial, the very last thing I’d imagine a company named that making would be cute little dog clothes, leashes and collars.  To me, it sounds like they’d be building the world’s tallest buildings or coming up with a creative new way to use concrete.  Nevertheless, amazingly unique dog clothing, pet supplies and accessories it is, and for that, I’m actually pretty thankful.

They have a great deal of different products, seriously ranging from dog food storage to pet grooming to pet diapers to clothing.  The clothing is what I’d like to talk about as some of it is not only adorable, but pretty darn original too!  Check out these down type jackets with RSS logos on the back.  I don’t know about you, but if i owned a small dog, it’d be wrapped up in one of those this winter!

I also love the little stripe shirts and the little hooded sweatshirts.  Something about a little lap dog wearing a hooded sweatshirt just gets me every time.  Whatever your’e looking for in the world of unique pet gifts, this would be a place to check it out.  I spent 20 minutes there and found almost 100 things I’d want to buy!

How To Pick the Perfect House for Your Pooch

Petmate IndigoIn the past on this fine blog, we’ve posted about a wide variety of different dog houses you can find and buy for your favorite pooch in the world.  They range from log cabins to barns, to full on condominiums for our 4-legged friends, but the real question is:  What kind of dog house IS best for your dog?  The simple fact of the matter is, there are more choices out there than any of us would ever believe, so picking the right one can be tricky.  Here are some tips that should help You find the perfect abode for your furry friend.

According to the article I just read, there are basically 6 different criteria you should keep in mind as you’re house hunting for something that won’t require panic or a 30-year fixed rate mortgage on.  Check out the full article, but for now, here is a paraphrasing of the 6 things:

  1. Consider Your Dogs Size - You want a house that is big enough for your dog to completely turn around inside, but that is about it.  Wasted space leads to cold, drafty houses and improper insulation.  Give him/her room but not too much.
  2. Consider the Weather Patterns - If you live in an area where it is hot, consider a dog house with some sort of built in air conditioning.  If you live in an area where it gets colder, and colder as winter rolls around, consider a well insulated, possibly heated dog house.  Heated beds and mats also exist to put inside.  Always make sure your dog is comfortable.
  3. Consider the Cleaning - The harder a dog house is to clean, the less likely you will be to actually clean it.  Metal and Plastic materials are much easier to clean than wood.
  4. Consider Your Dog’s Safety - Hard, sharp corners can lead to cuts and accidents if your dog accidentally runs into it.  Round soft corners are better.
  5. Consider Practical Implications - How easy is it to build?  Take down?  Is it easy to move after you’ve built it?
  6. Consider the Cost - If you’re low on cash, consider building one out of wood you already have.  They can be durable and nice.  If money is less of an issue, look into pre-made dog houses.  There are thousands.

There you have it.  For me, living where I do in Montana where it is Winter from October 1 - May 1, I have to have very warm, very durable outdoor dog houses for my dogs.  For my money, I’ve always loved and relied upon the well insulated, roomy and durable PetMate Indigo DogIgloo or something similar.  Igloos for your dog!  Perfect.

If you are looking for a stylish way to carry around your toy-sized pooch, you may be interested in getting one of these small dog carriers. The below list has dog carriers with styles from luxurious to spunky. Maybe you’ll find something that you like.

First, I would like to start off with a luxury Betel dog carrier. This goes for a whopping $650.

My next pick is much cheaper (less than $200) and is equally stylish — a messenger dog carrier.

Be Your Own Dog Groomer

With the right supplies you can groom your dog the way the professionals do. It just takes a little practice and tons of confidence. I started with grooming my own dog’s nails and now I am learning how to trim his hair without leaving any bald spots. Check out some of these supplies.

Dog Fur Clippers

Professional dog clippers are the best to go with to make your pooch look like he or she just came from the groomer. There are special clips you can use to make sure you don’t cut too low.

Dog Grooming Table

This dog grooming table is great for getting easy access to all different parts of your dog’s body. It is a good idea to get the grooming table with the arm, so that you can strap your pooch to it to keep him or her still. It also comes with a non-slip surface.

Dog Nail Trimmer

Then, of course, to top things off, you will need dog nail trimmers to keep your pooch comfortable and looking good.

Staying Warm with Dog Sweaters & Coats

Yes, dogs are born with a natural coat, but some climates can be too harsh for certain breeds of dogs. For instance, the chihuahua is a Mexican dog, which means he is used to warm climates. Being born in Colorado doesn’t mean he is fit for the freezing winters — the same goes for all different types of short-haired pooches. Depending on where you and your dog live will determine which type of clothing you will need, sweaters or jackets. Here are some ideas to get you started before the arrival of the cool months ahead.

Dog Sweater

This dog sweater is perfect for states that only get a little chilly or it can be worn during the fall months in states where harsher climates are present.

I think the sweaters with the hoodies are the cutest.

Then for dog owners that witness falls and winters that are a bit more nippy, can get a dog ski sweater w/ scarf.

But if you feel you need something a bit thicker to withstand rain and snow, you can get this dog coat.

Your Female Dog’s “Time of the Month”

Now, this is a topic that I find to be a little unusual, but I think it’s important that everyone should have knowledge on the subject. I still run into people who didn’t even know that female dogs had a cycle. I don’t know how many owners deal with the fact (besides getting her fixed), but I know that there are some products that can be used to make the situation less messy.

Dog Sanitary Diaper

I would go with designer sanitary dog diapers instead of the usual black ones.

First off, most dogs aren’t going to be running around and acting normal during this time — instead she will lie around and only get up when she really has to. During this period, you can buy sanitary dog diapers.

If your female dog hasn’t be fixed and hasn’t had her cycle yet, you can expect it to start around 5 or 6 months of age for small breeds and between 6-10 months for larger dogs. The average menstrual cycle lasts between 4 and 9 days. Another term for a dog’s menstrual cycle is “heat”.

Orthopedic Dog Beds

Is your dog getting old? The old saying goes, “Every human year equals 7 dog years”, but science and logic proves this to be wrong. Just take a look at this new chart of dog years. Anywho, if your dog is starting to get a bit rusty, you may want to consider getting him or her a nice comfortable orthopedic dog bed to rest on. These are waterproof (some old dogs have problems retaining water) and very, very comfortable. I would even get this for my young pooch to help keep him off of my bed. There is also an orthopedic dog sofa bed. All types of colors and styles are available for both the dog bed and sofa bed.
